10 Wrestlers Who Threw Their Championships Away
3. Nikki Cross - 24/7 Championship
The 24/7 Championship's first champion was crowned by superstars running to the ring and seeing who could be the first to pick it up. And it didn't get much better from there.
The hideous green and gold trinket was panned upon its reveal and throughout most of its three and half year lifetime, trading waists between 57 different superstars, legends and a Knox County Mayor.
When Paul "Triple H" Levesque took over as Chief Content Officer in September 2022, he issued sweeping changes to the creative outlook of WWE, including the ditching of the 24/7 title, and the rebranding of Nikki A.S.H. back to her original moniker of Nikki Cross.
Cross had been languishing in the women's division as an "almost superhero"; a return to her deranged gimmick in NXT was more than welcomed by fans. On the 26th November 2022 edition of Raw, Cross pinned Dana Brooke to win her 11th 24/7 Championship. Then, wandering backstage almost in a euphoric trance, she threw the title in the trash...well, nearly. She missed the trashcan and the title fell to the floor, symbolically ending the title how it began: as a big mistake.
