10 Wrestlers Who Transcended The Business
2. Ric Flair
What Ric Flair hasn't done in the world of pro wrestling isn't worth talking about. A sixteen-time world champion (if you ask WWE, at least), one of the best technical performers of all time, and a two-time WWE Hall of Famer, The Nature Boy has done it all. Well, except hold down a marriage.
Flair is one of those names that all wrestling fans know, but recently he's developed a following of a very different kind.
The Nature Boy has become somewhat of a mythical figure in the world of hip-hop. His "Woo!" chant can be heard in multiple rap songs, including several by multi-time Grammy nominee, Pusha T.
Flair even makes an appearance in the music video for Offset's "Ric Flair Drip". The song reached the top twenty in the US music chart and the music video earned acclaim from the hip-hop community.
This actually makes a lot of sense; Flair's whole gimmick was a boastful man who flaunted his wealth with fast cars, gold chains, and beautiful women. That's about as hip-hop as you can get.
Hip-hop has a rich history of drawing on the world of pop culture in its lyrics and The Nature Boy was way too big of a star to stay under its radar for long.
