Fred Ottman had a fairly decent run in WWE, first as Tugboat and then Typhoon of the Natural Disasters.

He got a prominent heel turn and reigned as one half of the tag team champions before moving to WCW in 1993.

And that's where it all went wrong.

Ottman was repackaged as The Shockmaster, the mystery team member for the good guys in the upcoming War Games match at Fall Brawl. On an episode of Flair for the Gold, Shockmasters' teammates Sting and Davey Boy Smith tried to introduce their new friend in grand fashion.

The plan was for Ottman to burst through a wall accompanied by jets of flame. Pretty badass, right? Well, on paper. But wrestling debuts aren't made of paper.

Instead, Ottman tripped over part of the set and crashed headfirst through the wall. It would have been perfect comedy, had he not been given such a dramatic introduction by his peers.

You can hear Sting, Smith, and fellow guests Sid Vicious and Harlem Heat try not to crack up laughing whilst this is going on. There was nothing they could do to save the segment though, as Shockmaster was confined to the annals of stupid wrestling history forever more.
