From: The Future There was a big thing in the about adding "2000" onto things in the 1980s and 1990s. It was a way to say something was futuristic because the 2000s were like this great unknown. The idea was that anything with 2000 was supposed to be cool. You know what wasn't cool? Tekno Team 2000 comprised of Troy and Travis. They looked ridiculous with their supposed futuristic look that was so cheap and stupid looking that they were never able to find success in WWE. WWE didn't really try to make them into serious team. After all, they billed them from "The Future." Yeah that's right, they didn't have an actual hometown. They were simply known as the two guys that were from The Future and that was it. They were only on WWE TV for a few months in 1996 because apparently they had things to take care of in The Future like trying to suck less.
