10 Wrestlers Who Were Unmasked In The Ring
2. Sin Cara
The first thing to note before we delve into this is that Sin Cara is a character that has been portrayed by different people. And apologies in advance if this gets confusing.
The original man under the mask was named Luis Ignacio Urive Alvirde and his introduction to the roster was built up with a fair amount of hype which quickly de-railed following a number of botches and a suspension for violating the wellness policy.
While he was still suspended, the Sin Cara character continued to appear and began to show heelish tendencies. After a while, and no small amount of confusion, two Sin Cara's were on the roster and had been differentiated as the imposter (black) and original (blue).
The two squared off in a mask versus mask match where the original Sin Cara was victorious, unmasking the imposter and revealing him to be Jose Jorge Arriaga Rodriguez, a wrestler from WWE developmental.
Arriaga went on to wrestle under the name Hunico until 2014 when the original Sin Cara was let go by WWE. Once again, Arriaga donned the mask and the colours to portray Sin Cara until he too left the company in 2019, returning to work in Mexico.
