10 Wrestlers Who Will Be Back In WWE NXT Eventually
4. Solomon Crowe
Solomon Crowe, formerly known as Sami Callihan, had plenty of buzz on the independent scene when he was signed by WWE in 2013, yet it took almost two years for him to debut on NXT TV. He had created quite a stir on NXT house shows by using a hacker gimmick, which was reportedly nixed later, yet it still found its way to television in February 2015.
However, the character he came into NXT with wasn't the same one fans had been hoping for. Instead, it was a watered-down version, and as a result, he tread water in NXT for months on end without a clear direction. It eventually got to a point where he didn't see a future for himself in NXT and he asked for (and was granted) his release that November.
Crowe could have been a star on the black-and-yellow brand, but he was absolutely in the right for walking away. Because he did, he has been able to reinvent himself and return to his roots as an in-ring death machine, basically what brought him to the dance to begin with.
He has said in various interviews that he left the company on good terms, so perhaps after showing NXT what they're missing out on, they'll bring him back into the fold down the road.
