They finally did it. Friday 9 October marked the night WWE finally split up the New Day, presumably to allow Bie to continue his momentum gained from the strong start to his singles run. While they have done it in the lamest way possible, there is no doubting that E departing the New Day was always going to happen before he embarked on a solo career.

It's been well-known since the New Day's inception that WWE always saw Big E as the man who was going to emerge from the group as their next big singles. His NXT Championship run is heavily underrated and he has spent the last several years crafting an exciting ring-style that manages to excite fans most nights. Add this to his freakish charisma and natural charm and you have a world champion in waiting.

With that said, WWE look ready to push him to the moon in the coming months. Big E is in a rather unfortunate position right now as Roman Reigns' heel turn has cemented him as the top guy on SmackDown for the foreseeable future, meaning it is unlikely WWE will put the title on him until at least WrestleMania. Despite this, The Draft has meant there are plenty of fresh faces for Big E to challenge until the time comes for WWE to put a world championship on him. Besides, at just 34, he's got plenty of time to get there.
