Many wrestling fans, especially those in Ireland, were excited to see JD McDonagh be called up to Monday Night Raw in the WWE Draft. Anyone who has seen the former Jordan Devin's work in NXT or hometown OTT Wrestling know just how good the once NXT Cruiserweight Champion is. With that surly came cautious optimism as the possibility always remains JD would get lost in the shuffle amongst the 18 wrestlers promoted from Tuesday nights.

Those fears were at least slightly put to rest when just a week into his Monday night tenure, WWE began to plant the seeds of an alliance between The Irish Ace and his former mentor, Finn Bálor. These backstage segments along with the beginning signs of dissension between Bálor and Damien Priest make now the perfect time to introduce JD McDonagh as the newest member of The Judgment Day.

The casual WWE fan likely does not know the real life relationship between the two Irish born stars, but it should not be a difficult story to tell. As Bálor continues to lose trust in The Punisher, it only makes sense he look to his best friend and former pupil in WWE to shore up Judgement Days ranks. Not to mention a spot in Raw's top faction is an excellent way to place a spotlight on the recently promoted JD McDonagh.
