2. Tommaso Ciampa - The Way

One of NXT's greatest storylines to date was the narrative of The Way. Fans were taken for a ride as Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, Indi Hartwell and Austin Theory transformed from cowardly heels to beloved babyfaces over nearly a year. The addition of Dexter Lumis as one half of the most unlikely of love interests made InDex the feel good stories of the year.

The last two years have seen members of The Way fired, rehired, had their contracts expire and depart for nearly a year for maternity leave. This all lead to the 8 May edition of Raw, where all members of The Way, minus Austin Theory, found themselves on the same show post WWE Draft. During their brief screen time The Rebel Heart told the group "He's coming back soon and it's going to be great." While that could mean the United States Champion Theory is moving brands, all signs point to Tommaso Ciampa returning from injury and joining the red brand.

This weeks Raw did see the triumphant return of Blackheart, with no indications the two time NXT Champion would be joining his D.I.Y. partner and the rest of The Way. While Johnny Wrestling and Psycho Killer were better enemies, reuniting one of the best tag teams in NXT history is the smart move going forward. Johnny Gargano and a revitalized Tommaso Ciampa can do wonders for Raw's tag team division and is the perfect way to legitimize The Way to the wider WWE audience on Raw.
