Billy Jack Haynes had been a draw in the NWA Pacific Northwest and was set to be a huge star in WWE. Considered a legitimate tough guy outside of the ring, the soft-spoken grappler commanded respect.

Pushed from day one as a strongman, he was immediately thrown into a high profile feud with ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage over the Intercontinental Championship. Although he wasn't booked to win the championship, he was at one stage considered as a possible successor as Savage moved up the card.

Haynes went onto a mid-card programme with Hercules Hernandez. Haynes was released by the company in 1988 when he refused to lose a match in Portland, Oregon, and changed the finish. Although his career continued, it would never reach the heights it could have in WWE. He had the look and was an OK worker, but he made the mistake of saying no to McMahon.

Haynes has in recent years become famous on the internet for his bizarre behaviour. Most infamously he made a confession to being involved in a murder which he claimed Bill and Hilary Clinton orchestrated. Such outlandish statements have become the norm for Haynes, ensuring he will remain in the public eye for all the wrong reasons.
