10 Wrestlers WWE Have Ruined Without Fans
3. Bray Wyatt
WWE had ruined Bray Wyatt before the pandemic (multiple times) but it took some doing to manage it again.
Flashback to April 2020 if you dare ever think about such a torrid time again, and after using the uncertainty of the world to seemingly fix what they'd broken, WWE needed to show care and patience with a Fiend gimmick they'd somehow salvaged.
Wyatt's WrestleMania 36 victory over John Cena wasn't just WWE's cinematic apex but served as a resuscitation job on a persona they'd been murdering since the prior October. The Fiend did have powers after all, and they weren't horribly inconsistent and/or pointless! They'd unpicked the stitches holding the John Cena act together, and if that was possible, surely they could do anything?
Only...they couldn't. And didn't. Bray spent the whole summer trying to dethrone new Universal Champion Braun Strowman, and when he finally managed it he lasted a week with the belt before Roman Reigns comfortably put him back in his box. A move to Raw resulted in a feud with Randy Orton where he kicked out of being set on fire but yet again couldn't quite shuffle a shoulder after an RKO at WrestleMania.
The reinventions are at least good for a few weeks - it'll be temporarily interesting to see what they try next.
