10 Wrestlers WWE Made You Hate (Thanks To Awful Booking)

6. Sheamus

Sheamus is a tremendous professional wrestler, and one of WWE's most consistent performers. The Irishman has been delivering good TV bouts and even better pay-per-view performances for years, and while there were some clear holes in his game when he debuted, this is no longer the case. He's great, and he continues to prove it every time the bell rings.

Unfortunately, Sheamus was also among the company's most despised performers for a while. Blighted by a premature main event push and a babyface character that presented him more like a schoolyard bully, the Irishman became insufferable for a while, particularly in 2012.

Sheamus won that year's Royal Rumble, but the fans rallied around his heel opponent, Daniel Bryan, on the road to WrestleMania. What followed was the infamous 18-second squash match that turned swathes of WWE's fanbase against Sheamus forever, and the hatred followed him for years. He was universally rejected as the 2015 Money In The Bank winner, and even more so as WWE Champion later in the year, though at least he was working as a heel at the time.

Things have fortunately tailed off now that he's teaming with Cesaro, but for several years, Sheamus was the ultimate "shoved down our throats" main eventer.
