10 Wrestlers WWE Should Have Pushed More

9. Curt Hennig

Considering he went by the name Mr Perfect, anything less than the main event looks like a bust. Everyone from Bret Hart to Hulk Hogan to Brock Lesnar has praised Curt Hennig and his near superhuman abilities in all areas of pro wrestling.

The AWA main eventer jumped ship to the burgeoning WWF in 1988. Impressed by Hennig's all-round talent and heel promo chops, McMahon and co. repackaged him as Mr Perfect, an obnoxious super athlete. The son of Larry 'The Axe' Hennig quickly got under WWF fans' skin with his overwhelming arrogance, amusing sports-based vignettes and undefeated streak.

Despite endless rumours of a full-on main event push, Hennig never won the big one in the WWF. Beyond infamously destroying Hulk Hogan's WWF Championship during their 1989-1990 feud, Hennig rarely got all that near to the top of the mountain.

Instead, he had his winning streak shattered by Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake before moving into the Intercontinental Championship picture. Given his talent, track record as a main event champ in AWA and crowd heat, Hennig could've been a perfect top heel titleholder for the WWF. He would've been the total package as an arch villain for babyfaces like Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior to try and take down.

While his run leading up to his unfortunate back injury in 1991 was hugely entertaining, it was never allowed to reach the peak it should have.
