10 Wrestlers WWE Will Regret Releasing

8. Zack Ryder

Things initially looked pretty good for Zack Ryder in WWE, and while he never quite managed to recover from that infamous storyline with John Cena and Kane, he's remained an entertaining presence and someone wrestling fans always get behind. He's had his fair share of WrestleMania moments in recent years too, winning the Intercontinental and Tag Team Championships in memorable fashion.

Unfortunately, WWE has finally decided to pull the plug on his lengthy time with them, and that's not something fans will be able to forgive them for. Ryder is an extremely charismatic and talented wrestler, and that means he will do well wherever he goes next (especially as he's only 34).

After an emotional post from Cody Rhodes last night, though, common sense says Ryder will be one of only a handful of these released wrestlers to find their way to AEW. He had nothing but good things to say about the Long Island Iced Z, and with the right creative team behind him, Ryder is someone who will be able to get entire arenas chanting his name with relative ease.

If the fickle WrestleMania crowd will get on their feet for Ryder despite him being rarely featured on television, then he'll now have no problem becoming the huge star WWE should have made him.
