10 Wrestlers WWE Will Regret Releasing

7. Kurt Angle

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle's return to WWE wasn't exactly a disaster, but it was a disappointment. The company waited far too long to let him step back into the ring, and when his final run came, we were left with a series of underwhelming matches on RAW and a retirement bout against, sigh, Baron Corbin! With his in-ring career over, the Olympic Gold Medallist has been serving as a producer.

Despite his personal issues over the years, Angle remains one of the smartest people in the wrestling business, and his knowledge behind the scenes was surely appreciated by today's Superstars. For reasons which aren't entirely clear, WWE doesn't agree, hence why he's now been future endeavoured.

It's possible Angle could go on to wrestle elsewhere, but it sounds like he's happy with how his career has ended, so we probably shouldn't bank on that. However, "One. More. Match" for Angle would be a big draw for a rival company, while the likes of AEW, IMPACT Wrestling, and Ring of Honor would benefit massively from his knowledge as a producer, helping make them even bigger threats to WWE.
