10 Wrestlers WWE Will Regret Releasing

Seriously, what the f***? Thanks to his "Rusev Day" gimmick, Rusev was once one of the most over stars in WWE, but because it wasn't their idea, the company never allowed it to go anywhere. Had he become WWE Champion during this time, the Bulgarian Brute would have been cemented as a top star and someone the company could have spent the next few years building storylines around.

That's not how things went, and Rusev instead found himself embroiled in a cringe-worthy love triangle alongside real-life wife Lana and Bobby Lashley. Clearly frustrated by how he was being used, the writing has been on the wall for Rusev for a while, and his release more than likely came as a result of him pushing WWE to let him go (after all, why keep talent around who don't want to be there?).

Whether Rusev heads to AEW, IMPACT Wrestling, or even just the independents, he's going to be one of the biggest names on the wrestling scene. He oozes charisma, is endlessly entertaining, and fun to watch in the ring, and when everyone is talking about Rusev, WWE is going to quickly learn that they let someone who should have been a future WWE Champion unecessarily slip through their fingers.
