10 Wrestling Duos Who Shared The Most Bizarre Chemistry

7. Kenny Omega & Kota Ibushi

In contrast to many of the duos on this list, Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi were not thrown together in fiction through a zany contrivance.

Omega felt immediately seduced by Ibushi on tape. He felt he was his wrestling soul mate. And so, driven by this curious feeling and a long-held love of Japanese culture, Omega wrestled a bonkers outdoor comedy match in the vein of DDT to secure himself a job there, wherein he met, wrestled, and bonded romantically with his siren figure.

The Golden Lovers act is either incredible or corny and alienating, depending on the extent to which Omega's epic, affected storytelling resonates - but stripped of the wanderlust mythology and everything else, they were simply a spectacular tag team act working in near-impossible sync. They moved in the same, to-the-millisecond motion to perform moves of awesome speed, athleticism and Impact. It was as if they shared the same mind.

The synchronised spectacle was exhilarating in itself, but all that relentless training paid off: their movement was so synergistic, and symbiotic, that it put the act over as the ultimate united front for the ultimate tag team origin story.
