6. Cody Rhodes Viewed Stardust As Goldust-Lite

By this point, it's relatively well-known that Cody Rhodes grew tired of playing the Stardust character in WWE. Despite fans repeatedly calling for the persona to be shelved by the company, those in charge persevered. Even when Cody's father Dusty passed away in 2015, the man was asked to continue playing the cartoon-like gimmick.

The death of Dusty should have marked the end of Stardust, it was high time that Cody was allowed to get serious again. WWE disagreed, and Rhodes wound up leaving the promotion in May of this year. Since then, he's been equally complimentary towards WWE (mainly for allowing him to pen a book about his dad) and lifted the lid on his time under the face paint.

Granting an interview to the Chad Dukes Wrestling Show, Cody said he looked at Stardust like a lesser version of Goldust. At first, Stardust wore virtually the same outfit and paint as his brother, but eventually morphed into something a little more colourful.

It's interesting that Cody consistently compared Stardust to Goldust, seeing his character as a 'lite' version of the latter.
