In 1996-1997, Eric Bischoff was (rightly) full of himself for creating the cash-cow nWo gimmick, turning WCW business around and giving Vince McMahon a competitor to worry about. On top of the world and with the promise of more to come, Bisch was in a high-fiving, back-patting, confident mood one evening as he rode in a limo with Hulk Hogan.

Amidst all the good vibes and ego stroking, Hogan offered up a warning to his buddy.

Hulk's very words were that everything could "all go away in an instant, brother". The message was clear to Eric: he should enjoy the spoils of his work without ever believing that things would be this way forever. It was a sobering reminder of Hogan's business savvy, and it's one that haunted the WCW head when the wheels began falling off.

Since then, Bischoff said on his excellent 83 Weeks podcast that he's never forgotten Hulk's chilling comment. Just as everything looked to be all sunshine and rainbows, a crafty old veteran wanted to bring his pal down to earth and remind him to relish every second.
