10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week

9. Ricky Steamboat Wishes He Had Wrestled Shawn Michaels

In 2009, Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat impressed everybody by looking great in matches against Chris Jericho. At WrestleMania, he was part of a team also involving Roddy Piper and Jimmy Snuka, and was by far the most impressive legend on display. The following month, he proved it wasn't a fluke by having an excellent singles bout against Jericho at Backlash. During his career, there haven't been too many top stars that Steamboat hasn't wrestled. Speaking on The Roman Show however, the man stated that he regrets never being able to face Shawn Michaels one-on-one in his prime. Another man he name checked was Triple H, although Ricky did face 'The Game' back in WCW, but that was before Triple H was a top star. It's easy to imagine that Steamboat vs. Michaels would have been special. Intriguingly, Shawn was always somebody Randy Savage wanted to work with too, which shows just how respected a performer HBK was by an older generation of grapplers. Steamboat would never get to work with Michaels, who has since retired from the ring.
