10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week

10. Paige's Surprising Childhood Idol

Even though the WWE Diva was not the original choice for the slot, Paige had an entertaining interview with Steve Austin. The legend's show on the WWE Network was supposed to include Hulk Hogan, but he's persona non grata in the company right now. Therefore, someone had to take his place, and the interview did a remarkable job of showing fans a different side of Paige. Breaking into wrestling when she was just 13, the British-born grappler has been around pro wrestling her entire life. Nonetheless, one of her choices as childhood idol was still fairly surprising. Bull Nakano retired from full-time wrestling when Paige was just 5 years old, making her a somewhat surprising choice. It seems that Paige has done a lot of research over the years on old footage. Her mother, Saraya Knight is a fierce in-ring competitor. She favours the same ultra-aggressive approach that was a Nakano trademark. It's possibly for that very reason that Paige came to know and love the Japanese wrestler's work. Of course, another of her heroes growing up was Amy 'Lita' Dumas, but few could have predicted the name Bull Nakano to surface.
