On the subject of female wrestling in WWE, the matter has become a hot topic of sorts over the past year or so. There's been an obvious push from the promotion to present women in a more favourable light, moving away from the eye candy leanings of before and establishing the 'Divas' as more credible.

There's even talk that the moniker will be aced, and the WWE Divas Title will once again become known as the WWE Women's Title.

Discussing the topic with ESPN, Stephanie McMahon quite remarkably opened up a little on the subject. In the process, she also moved away temporarily from her usual pro-WWE stance, during which the company can seemingly do no wrong. In Stephanie's opinion, WWE were lagging behind a little when it came to their presentation of women on television.

In UFC, the likes of Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm have been classic examples of portraying women as equals in what was previously considered a 'man's world'. WWE have started to follow suit, but there was a delay in triggering such a 'female revolution'.

For McMahon, it's not before time that things have started to change in WWE.
