10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (April 3)
5. Justin Roberts Hits Out At WWE
In one of the more surprising stories to break this past week, former WWE ring announcer Justin Roberts penned an article for Medium.com, during which the ex-employee criticised the way the company have handled the situation surrounding Connor 'The Crusher' Michalek. Sadly passing away from complications related to brain cancer (Medulloblastoma), super fan Connor was honoured at the 2015 WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony as the first beneficiary of The Warrior Award, set up under suggestion by the late great Ultimate Warrior. During his article, Roberts notes that whilst Connor deserves to be honoured, WWE twisted his story somewhat to suit themselves, something he finds pretty hard to deal with. Becoming a good friend of the young boy, the ring announcer says he saw an altogether different side of what WWE is all about during the ordeal, one which seemed to suit them far more than help the youngster. It'll be interesting to see how, or even if, WWE respond to Roberts here, as his words are pretty challenging. In fairness to the man, he doesn't outright say the corporation are evil, simply that they like to tell stories their own way, even if they get in the way of truth.
