Nowadays, WWE performers are expected to follow the script. This has been a source of much irritation for many former stars, guys like Steve Austin and Mick Foley feel the company would be better-served by letting the men and women they employ be themselves on camera.

According to Enzo Amore, that very nearly happened recently on Monday Night Raw. Speaking with the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, Amore harked back his hotel room scene with Lana. Cast as a guy in over his head who realised he was about to cheat with another man's wife, Enzo was written to try and escape from the situation.

That's not how Amore wanted to play it, he wanted to go into that hotel all guns blazing and act like the 'Certified G'. Right before going through the door to Lana's room, Enzo said he contemplated winging it and cracking jokes, knowing it would have the crew laughing.

In the end, he went along with the script. Things could have been very different during the live segment had Enzo deviated from the plan and not played the shy, retiring good guy.
