Names like Shelton Benjamin, John Morrison and MVP were all thrown around last Summer when WWE announced the latest brand split between Raw and SmackDown. Former WWE United States and Tag-Team Champ MVP was one ex-star many believed was a shoe-in for a return, especially because he wasn't signed to any other company.

Talking to WSVN-TV about the chances of a WWE comeback sometime in the future, the bullish MVP claimed to still remember a personal conversation with Vince McMahon that left the door open for him to return.

Approaching his boss in late 2010, MVP asked to be released from his contract in order to pursue other endeavours. McMahon didn't stand in MVP's way, telling the want-away star that he could return any time he felt ready.

It's only natural that people will suspect a fallout when a talent departs WWE suddenly. MVP's story shatters that theory, because McMahon's words don't exactly suggest there was a relationship breakdown.

Indeed, MVP was the one who suggested the split in the first place.
