Sean Waltman hasn't wrestled full time for WWE since the Summer of 2002, but he has stayed active in promotions like TNA, AAA and on the independent scene worldwide since then.

On an episode of The Steve Austin Show, the former 1-2-3 Kid and X-Pac was keen to point out that he has maintained a healthy schedule even though he's been away from the WWE spotlight full-time for around 15 years; Waltman has occasionally dipped his toe back into WWE for appearances, the most recent coming at WrestleMania 31.

According to the PWInsider, the 44-year old Waltman will stop accepting in-ring bookings in April, 2017, theoretically bringing his near 30-year wrestling career to an end.

Some on social media have already been pointing out that this supposed in-ring sabbatical could actually be due to WWE commitments; Waltman is still healthy and able to perform to a high standard, so there's a chance WWE could hire him to pad out the roster for the rest of the year or perhaps place him in a veteran role on NXT.
