10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Feb 24)
5. Kurt Angle Expects To Be In The Title Hunt Post-WWE Hall Of Fame
During an extended interview with Ring Rust Radio about his recent WWE Hall Of Fame announcement, a talkative Kurt Angle revealed that he actually thought Triple H was going to offer him an in-ring return when the pair spoke last year.
Instead, WWE's COO was trying to work out a deal to induct Kurt into the Hall Of Fame before WrestleMania 33.
In Angle's mind, a prolonged series of matches on television and pay-per-view will follow the Hall Of Fame honour. The Olympic Gold Medal winner even expects to be competing for top titles in WWE again, post-WrestleMania.
Kurt's reasoning for this theory revolves around the recent comeback Bill Goldberg made to WWE; at 50, Goldberg is around two years older than Angle, and that must give the ex-Olympian heart as he looks forward to his own WWE return.
It remains to be seen what WWE's long term plans for Kurt Angle are, but the man himself clearly wants to work feuds involving the WWE and Universal Titles once he's done receiving the Hall Of Fame treatment.
