10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Jan 16)

1. Christopher Daniels Was Supposed To Be In The Brood

Gangrel was the undoubted leader of The Brood, a collection of wrestlers who were portrayed as vampires. During the 'Attitude' Era, the group proved popular, and it was also instrumental in helping launch the careers of Edge and Christian as a tag-team. Unbelievably, Christian wasn't even supposed to be in the faction from the outset, that spot belonged to someone else. That someone was former TNA and current Ring Of Honor star Christopher Daniels. Speaking to The Roman Show, Gangrel told how Edge was always in the plans, but Daniels was supposed to be the third man. Things were only changed when Edge recommended his childhood friend - Christian - and Daniels was pushed from the picture to make the switch. Daniels would never receive a big break in WWE, although he did work a few televised matches. However, he was mainly used as an enhancement talent, and The Brood could have been an idea role for him. On the independent scene, Daniels cultivated a 'Fallen Angel' persona that proved popular, it would have been a good fit for the sinister stable.
