10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (July 3)
5. Maria Says WWE's Attitude Towards Women Hasn't Changed
Currently tearing it up in Ring Of Honor, Maria Kanellis has always spoken highly of the driven nature prevalent in the ROH locker room, and believes it's only a matter of time before the product in the company is exposed to a larger audience, pushing the promotion up a notch on the pro wrestling ladder. Speaking during a media appearance this week, Maria couldn't help but talk about the situation in WWE, whereby women under contract to the juggernaut feel they are being consistently overlooked by management. 2015 has thus far been a year dominated by such news, as everyone from AJ Lee to Paige has chimed in on the debate, but this week it was Maria's turn. Asked her thoughts on WWE's attitude towards women, the former Diva stated that she doesn't feel that mindset towards the fairer gender has changed, nor will it ever. Acknowledging the hard work that the girls in WWE and NXT continue to do, the 'First Lady Of ROH' said it's up to the company to make positive changes, not the women, because they work extremely hard to get noticed, but are constantly let down by their employer.
