There's been so much written about the 'Montreal Screwjob' on WhatCulture over the years that we could fill our own book of information on the subject. Most of that is about the circumstances behind Vince McMahon's decision, Shawn Michaels' pretence that he didn't know anything about it and Bret Hart's leap to apparent safety in WCW.

Now, Earl Hebner has opened up in Viceland's 'Dark Side Of The Ring' series to tell all about his evening following the 1997 Survivor Series.

After immediately fleeing to a waiting car and shooting off to his hotel, Hebner started hearing wild stories that Bret had destroyed WWF equipment, trashed the locker room and punched McMahon in the face. All of these tales made him super-paranoid that Hart would be coming for him next. After all, Bret knew which hotel Earl was staying at.

Going out of his mind with worry, Hebner decided to push all the furniture in his room up against the door so Hart couldn't get in if he did come calling. Earl literally barricaded his hotel door so he could maybe get some sleep knowing he wouldn't be attacked in the middle of the night.

Incredible.
