10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (June 12)
5. Stats Released On WWE Catering Volume
When pro wrestling fans thinks of what goes into the average WWE television taping, images of production workers busying themselves dressing up the arena, pyrotechnics being perfected and wrestlers planning their matches inside the ring immediately spring to mind. One thing which certainly doesn't is just how much soup is consumed at the average event! Regardless, ABC reporters filed a quick fire study on WWE's catering habits, and the results were pretty staggering. It makes sense - given the sheer amount of bodies floating around each event - that there would be a lot of food going down gullets, but 180lbs of chicken is a lot of meat. That, along with other numbers such as 500 cookies, 15 gallons of soup and 100lbs of potatoes, shows just how much is being eaten. As aforementioned, this isn't something many people think of, but ABC also did their homework on some technical specs for Monday Night Raw. Typically, the set-up for each show begins at 8am, and the company pack over 2,800 pieces of pyro per telecast. That means there's - on average - a full mile of cable powering those fireworks.
