In retrospect, Michelle McCool worked damn hard to claw her way up the women's ladder during a time when superior in-ring skills weren't exactly paramount. Behind the scenes, she started dating The Undertaker and fell madly in love with him. That, as McCool explained on Lilian Garcia's 'Chasing Glory' pod, came with its own problems.

WWE writers used it as an excuse to undermine her.

During the interview, Michelle revealed that several of her peers (she didn't name names) also made things miserable by telling creative and higher-ups like Stephanie McMahon that they wouldn't work with her. She was viewed as entitled because of who she was romantically involved with. Politics suck, folks.

On one occasion, after McCool had suggested something for the night's show, a writer threw his hands up and said, "Why don't we just call this the Michelle McCool and Undertaker show?". That was the kind of crap McCool had to deal with regularly towards the end of the run.
