When he's not stretching out his butt before workouts and matches, AJ Styles is killing it in the ring as WWE Champion, and showing vast signs of improvement on the microphone. In interviews since joining, AJ has always remarked how pleased he is to share the WWE experience with good friends like Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson too.

That almost wasn't the case.

Although Styles recommended both as soon as he joined WWE, he was saddened to hear the promotion weren't interested in bringing Gallows/Anderson over from New Japan with him. Not wanting to put his pals in a sticky spot and get their hopes up, AJ kept those conversations with WWE to himself.

AJ told Lilian Garcia's Chasing Glory podcast that WWE had changed their minds within a week and wanted Styles to put them in touch. Only then did Styles dare to mention the chance of working together again to his ex-Bullet Club cohorts. It didn't seem right to tell either about WWE's lack of interest and leave them disillusioned.
