10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (May 1)
5. Rockstar Joins TNA As Senior Producer
It's no secret that former Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan is a huge fan of professional wrestling - the rock singer has even previously founded his very own wrestling promotion, Resistance Pro Wrestling. Leaving the company late last year, it seems Corgan hadn't scratched an itch. TNA announced this week that the rockstar had signed on to become a Senior Producer Of Creative And Talent Development, which puts Corgan right in the firing line going forward for fans who are less-than-enamoured with what they're watching from the group. The star will become part of the team responsible for creating characters and writing storylines, which is really a dream job for any lifelong fan of the industry. Interestingly, Corgan noted that he felt babyfaces had become less important to fans, and he wanted to help change that, giving people someone to really get behind. It's an interesting mind set to have in 2015, when the art of the babyface is a difficult one to master.
