1. Stephanie McMahon Almost Burst Out Laughing At Armageddon 1999
The main story going into the Armageddon 1999 pay-per-view revolved around the idea that Triple H had drugged and married Stephanie McMahon. That explained why he was set to face Vince McMahon in a bitter No Holds Barred Match in the headline slot on the show.
Providing an interview for the Industrial Strength Show, Stephanie opened up on the famous match, admitting that she very nearly ruined it by laughing. At several points throughout the match, WWF cameras focused on Stephanie sat at ringside, showing her concerned looks as she saw her father beaten mercilessly by the man who deceived everyone.
As corny as it was, it was dramatic and did enhance the match. Looking to come across like a true heel, Triple H grabbed the microphone and taunted Stephanie by saying she didn't need to worry about daddy, because her daddy was right there. Effectively, he was saying that he'd replaced Vince.
Now, Steph can admit that she very nearly burst into fits of laughter, because the line was such a cheesy thing to say. It was effective, but the entire story would have fallen apart had Stephanie even so much as smiled.
