Towards the tail end of 2014, Sheamus took some time off from the hectic WWE lifestyle to heal up and get some surgery done. The break seemed to do the 'Celtic Warrior' the world of good, because he was struggling as a mid-level babyface before his sabbatical.

At first appearing to still be a good guy upon his return, he turned heel by attacking both Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler, before embarking on a feud with the latter. The most striking thing about Sheamus was his new look, complete with braided facial hair and a Mohawk-style hairdo. It didn't appeal to everyone and most crowds chanted 'You Look Stupid' at the Irishman.

During an interview with Chris Van Vliet recently, Sheamus revealed that the new look was something he fretted on before deciding to go through with it. Seeking some advice, he sought out Chris Jericho, who had also previously altered his trademark appearance drastically years before.

The new look was obviously inspired by his role in the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, but it appears Sheamus had trepidation about the whole thing.
