10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (May 8)
4. Vince Russo Doesn't Feel Sami Zayn Can Draw Money
It's been an incredibly long road for the man, but Sami Zayn finally made his main roster WWE debut this past week on Monday Night Raw. For may long time fans who remember Zayn's work as 'El Generico' in ROH and on the independent scene, it was a very cool moment to see him wrestle on the flagship show of the biggest company in the world, and it's fair to say that the guy did himself credit with his performance. Going up against John Cena for the United States Title, most people were impressed by what Zayn had to offer, but there's one former WWE writer who wasn't. Speaking candidly with his thoughts online about Sami Zayn's performance, Vince Russo irked a lot of people by suggesting that the NXT star came across as nothing more than a "jobber". Airing his opinion, as he often does, Russo remarked that Zayn was not someone who could hold the attention of casual viewers, stunningly burying the man by saying he would never be a television star. Admittedly putting over than Zayn is a great wrestler, Russo has received a fair amount of back lash for his comments.
