In the lead-up to Hell In A Cell, Mick Foley posted on social media that Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte for the Raw Women's Title would be the show's main event. Backtracking almost immediately, Foley then remarked that the female bout would be 'just one' of the headline matches on the pay-per-view.

On the outside looking in on WWE's product nowadays, Hall Of Fame announcer Jim Ross gave his thoughts on this situation via his Ross Report podcast. Whilst JR admired Banks and Charlotte for their work during the actual match itself, he nonetheless felt that WWE's creative team could have done a much better job pushing it beforehand.

In Ross's mind, if the writing team had known Charlotte vs. Sasha was going to be the main event they should have made a bigger deal out of it on television in the weeks preceding Hell In A Cell. WWE did pen a contract signing segment between both women, although it's true that it didn't come across as the show's main focus.

JR has a point: the match could have been much grander had it been promoted more heavily.
