10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Nov 6)
10. Sheamus Once Barred Boy Band Member From Night Club
Long before he was in possession of the 'Money In The Bank' briefcase, Sheamus worked as a bouncer in his native Dublin, Ireland. Whilst he was training to become a pro wrestler, the big Irishman worked door shifts to keep the money rolling in. He must have been an intimidating sight, with his trademark ginger hair, not to mention the fact he stands well over 6ft tall. During one shift, the future WWE Heavyweight Champion refused a major national pop star entry into a night club he was guarding. Nicky Byrne, then a member of Irish boy band, Westlife was looking to enter the establishment without any ID. Sheamus was having none of it, much to the frustration of Byrne's girlfriend, who asked the fledgling grappler if she knew who he was. Bemused by the question, Sheamus didn't bat an eyelid, and told the pop tar that he didn't look over 21. Incredibly, the WWE star told this story during a recent appearance on the Westlife member's Irish radio show this week. Everyone involved had a good laugh at how bizarre the situation has turned out, now that Sheamus is a guest on Byrne's podcast.
