10 Wrestling Finishers That Haven't Worked In Years

3. Chris Jericho - Codebreaker

Chris Jericho's Codebreaker happily sat as the first-ever Undisputed WWE World Champion's most impactful weapon in an already staggering toolkit for an age.

But upon making his presence felt in The Land of All Elite back in 2019, Le Champion felt that he needed to debut something exclusive to his new home. So, throughout the build-up to his Double or Nothing showdown with Kenny Omega that year, the wrestling veteran teased the unleashing of his latest finisher of mass destruction: a spinning back-elbow by the name of The Judas Effect.

And wouldn't you know, after hitting one Codebreaker, earning a near-fall, and then hitting one more for good measure, the debuting Judas Effect was enough to knock off The Cleaner and earn a match against Hangman Page for the AEW World Championship.

From that moment on, Jericho's double-knee facebuster has provided the All Elite faithful with near-fall pops aplenty, but the days of breaking the code en-route to a monumental victory seem to have pretty much ended with his IWGP Intercontinental Championship win over Tetsuya Naito at NJPW Dominion in 2018.
