10 Wrestling Gimmicks That Failed Before They Started

Gimmicks so bad they never had a chance.

The world of professional wrestling is pretty much made up of a murder's row of lunatics, over-the-top stereotypes, and characters so bizarre you'd never expect them to find any level of success with fans. Somehow, many do - yet just as many fail miserably. There have been plenty of bad gimmicks in the WWE and other top wrestling promotions over the years. Now, in the hands of the right worker, even a bad gimmick can take off and be successful. Look no further than The New Day for evidence of that. And seeing Xavier Woods constantly put through tables. Then there are other gimmicks, mind, ones that never caught on. The ones that, in many cases, failed before they even started. Those may not be memorable in the traditional sense, but they certainly are worthy of a second look, if only as a cautionary tale of how to not get over in pro wrestling. And to be honest, some of these gimmicks were at least entertaining in the 'so bad it's good' sort of way. So let's take a look at ten of the best - and by that, I of course mean worst - gimmicks that failed before they even started.
