10 Wrestling Moments That Exploited Nostalgia (And Failed)
4. DX Try To Give Seth Rollins The Rub
Here's that DX rub again, stretching its hand outwards, wearing massive gaudy rings, its eyes bulging wide, chomping on a gigantic, ever-present cigar.
Ricochet was meant to get the "rub" at last year's RAW Reunion before suffering an infection in his elbow/violently and repeatedly smashing his elbow into a wall to get out of it. And so the decision was made to have DX "endorse" Seth Rollins, which might have worked better had they actually endorsed him. As Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows ganged up on Seth Rollins - they were pally the last time they interacted onscreen, remember, of course you don't remember, you to them are as thick as pigsh*t, which is why WWE ran the segment - Triple H and Shawn Michaels made the save. Jerry Lawler expressed profound shock when Road Dogg's music hit, as if it were a big surprise. He was in the stable. "What?" he shrieked.
Could it...could it possibly be? Yes it was the guy who was over for a year and who will not f*ck off from conflating himself with a real legend!
After making the save, the gang allowed Rollins the solemn honour of telling disinterested members of the crowd that they could suck his c*ck, and he did it do eagerly that it was as if he were overjoyed to win a competition. And then, like a right pack of c*nts, they left him out of the group hug. Did the rub work?
Nope.
They screwed him doggy in the hizzouse.
