10 Wrestling Moments That Should Have Been Huge (But Weren't)

That Sting at least made it to WWE perhaps satiated those fans that reasonably assumed that he'd never ever work for Vince McMahon, but his unfortunate career-ending injury in a September 2015 battle with Seth Rollins robbed audiences of what should have been a substantially more satisfying stint.
Worst of all, WWE wasted their one WrestleMania with 'The Icon'. A confusing conclusion to an otherwise enjoyable angle, WWE elected to almost entirely obliterate a storyline they'd crafted for Sting as a vigilante, suppressing the oppression of Triple H's evil authority.
Instead, Sting Vs Triple H became an out-of-nowhere Monday Night Wars retread, featuring illogical run-ins from D-Generation-X and the New World Order for empty nostalgia pops. An unwelcome avatar for WWE in this petty play, Triple H was successful. A post-match respect handshake was even more perplexing when Sting returned later that year to again screw with Authority plans.
