10 Wrestling Moments Too Real For Wrestlers

On occasion the wrestling business throws up a scenario that can be quite difficult to fully explain to the average television consumer. Jake "The Snake" Roberts' pet snake chomping down on Macho Man Randy Savage's arm most definitely falls into that bizarre category.

But this wasn't merely a case of the pair thinking up a genius way of getting more eyes on their feud and getting right to it. An understandably concerned Savage wasn't entirely convinced his arm wouldn't drop off following the bite, so had the snake's keeper withstand his own chomp backstage beforehand.

As Roberts would later recall, the legendary figure demanded he not move a muscle following a 3-4 second bite from the animal whilst he watched for any potential death on the horizon. Jake turned out to be fine, obviously.

When it came time for the actual in-ring angle, however, the snake would stay clamped to Macho Man's arm for what seemed like an eternity, resulting in Savage's arm blowing up like a balloon for days.

In another unexpected turn of events, said reptile would then drop dead a few weeks later. Clearly nobody checked to see if the Macho Man was de-venomized...
