4. Cody Rhodes Thinks His Fiery Table Spot Was "Dumb" - AEW Dynamite, 2021
Cody Rhodes is many things, including a "free agent" now if reports are to be believed, but a star who dials it in is simply not one of them.
Perhaps his all-round barmy bump during a match against Andrade El Idolo towards the latter part of 2021 on an episode of AEW Dynamite best encapsulated just how far the EVP of All Elite is willing to go to send a crowd home happy. But that doesn't necessarily mean the charred TNT Champion would be in a rush to incinerate himself for the paying public again if given the chance.
When re-living the bout that he still bears burn scars from today with ComicBook.com, Rhodes would class the match-ending, fiery table spot as "maybe the dumbest thing I’ve ever done". Without skipping a beat, though, he'd also admit that "...man, it was cool". No arguments here.
It's safe to say that Rhodes definitely achieved what he set out to do in the brutal street fight, that being producing a barbaric fight that was anything but a "Basic Betty". But you'd forgive The American Nightmare for dialling back on these sort of stunts going forward now that he's daddy to a baby girl and making waves outside of The Land of All Elite.
