10 Wrestling Stars WWE Should Never Have Let Get Away
2. Kenny Omega
Today, Kenny Omega is one of the hottest stars in Japan and one of the most talked-about pro wrestlers outside of WWE. He's the leader of the ultra-popular Bullet Club stable, but he's already succeeded where former leaders Prince Devitt and AJ Styles failed - last month, he became the first foreigner to win the G1 Climax tournament.
Omega has spent the year winning titles, having incredible matches, and basically helping New Japan cover for losing Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura. He's so universally acclaimed that, over the past couple of years, WWE has made numerous overtures toward him. Thankfully for fans of NJPW, "The Cleaner" has turned them all down.
What many people don't know, however, is that Kenny Omega was actually a part of WWE about a decade ago. Assigned to Deep South Wrestling after signing a developmental deal, Omega spent ten months in the company before requesting his release, citing the tyranny of racist, sexist bully Bill DeMott and other trainers as having ruined his time there. Had WWE been more concerned with the kind of people who hold power in the company, Omega and others could have stayed.
