10 WWE & AEW Wrestlers Poised To Break Out In 2022
2. Shotzi
Shotzi left NXT as a former NXT Women's Tag Team Champion (with Ember Moon) and 2020 recipient of the NXT Breakout Star of the Year award. Yet, her main roster promotion was a low key affair. Shotzi was thrown together in a tag team with Tegan Nox. Unfortunately none of the spark Shotzi had with Moon transferred over to this new partnership. When the team were disbanded during the brand split, Shotzi's star began to rise as she tangled with some of SmackDown's best and brightest. Though her win/loss ratio can appear a little dire, being given ring time is half the battle.
Professional wrestling, at its full realisation of sports entertainment, pits larger than life characters against each other in impressive feats of athleticism. Shotzi fits in this paradigm well. Her horror-infused punk rock image is both authentic and captivating, drawing eyes to screens around the world.
Alternative culture and wrestling often overlap. Some of the most beloved legends have broken the mould and defied expectations of what a female wrestler should be, including notable names such as Luna Vachon, Victoria, and Lita (whom Shotzi has eyes on).
