No-one in the history of professional wrestling was as popular as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. No-one sold as many t-shirts, sold out as many arenas, and brought in as many new fans as The Rattlesnake. That's why it's quite easy to forget just how good he was at being bad. Paul Heyman saw potential in Austin right from the start. He brought him in as a member of The Dangerous Alliance, and dubbed him as "the world's greatest athlete!" Even when Austin joined ECW, he did so as a heel, someone who looked down on the bingo hall promotion and saw himself as someone far above the likes of the ECW wrestlers and fans. When Austin jumped ship to WWF and became The Ringmaster, he was still a heel. Even when he gave his famous "Austin 3:16" speech, he was still the heel. It wouldn't be until the famous WrestleMania 13 match against Bret Hart that both men would turn and Austin would finally become a good guy. He would later make what many saw an ill-advised switch back to working heel at WrestleMania X-Seven, when he allied himself with Vince McMahon, and later formed the short-lived, but extremely awesome Two Man Power Trip with Triple H. This was one of the most entertaining times in Austin's career, and his work with and opposite Kurt Angle cemented the Olympic Hero as a top-tier star.
