10 WWE Bitch Slaps Heard Around The World

10. Vickie Guerrero Slaps AJ Lee€Twice - Raw 2012

Heel authority storylines are pretty tiring today as we have had to put up with them pretty regularly for the past 17 years, and each year has brought with it diminishing returns from this narrative. However, when they are done right they obviously are very effective, and can really help emphasise the cowardice of a heel that likes to hide behind their authority. Vickie Guerrero, to her credit, was a pretty decent heel authority figure who genuinely infuriated fans, and had the good humour to put up with some particularly vicious storylines and gags from WWE writers and the universe. A great example of this is the way that she condescendingly treated AJ Lee and gave her two phenomenal bitch slaps in a row, in retaliation for Lee€™s slap on her a couple of weeks before, during their feud in 2012.
In storyline AJ Lee was the GM of Raw and in a heated confrontation with Guerrero had caved and just had to attack Vickie which the whole crowd loved. However, the WWE €˜Board of Directors€™ were furious, so they forced AJ to apologise and made it clear that she was no longer to lay her hands on any other staff member again. Vickie took this as an open invitation to verbally torture her and when Vickie didn€™t deem AJ€™s apology sincere enough she opened her palm and laid into a shocked, and rage filled AJ who was helpless to defend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drVIzK9wgCQ The slap would signal the escalation of the feud which was a particularly interesting one at the time, because it featured two very strong willed and forceful women, as opposed to simple €˜eye candy€™ Divas that WWE was/is more well known for featuring. The feud itself would help cement AJ Lee€™s importance within the company, and help build her into where she is today, standing as one of the most popular Divas in the organisation€™s history . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTZnuSH2HJA
