A predictable highlight of the card, the impactful clash between Samoa Joe and Jason Jordan steals the show at WrestleMania, but the conclusion gives the Angle family little of the retribution they so desperately needed.

With Jordan looking set to pick up victory, Triple H makes a dramatic return from a year-long hiatus to hit Jordan with a Pedigree, serving him up to the 'Samoan Submission Machine' for an easy victory. The two beat him down again on the post-WrestleMania Raw, with 'The Game' revealing that he was back to boss the flagship show in a way Kurt never could.

Sneering that he doesn't play favourites before joining Joe in his assault on Angle's son, the pair look unstoppable on the night, but are blocked from repeating the feat the following week when Kurt makes a surprise return to aid Jordan in an emotional scene.

The pair challenge Triple H and Samoa Joe to a match at the April pay-per-view, affording Kurt a soft launch back to in-ring action and the exciting novelty of seeing both his paternal combo with Jordan and a rehash of two of his most famous rivalries. Jordan and Angle are successful, finally gaining a measure of revenge on Joe and solidifying Kurt's position as Raw General Manager. For now, at least.
